Where were you born and when/why did you move to Secunda?

Keith: Born in Cape Town, moved to Secunda for the scenery ? Just kidding – I am an engineer at SASOL

Lindie:My mother moved to Secunda whilst being 7 months pregnant, I had to come with!

Esmrah: I was born in Upington and moved to Secunda because of a Sasol Bursary.

Describe yourself in once sentence:

Keith: GREAT!!!!, oh one sentence, not one word, then a relatively intellectually-orientated person who enjoys working on complex problems and ideas

Lindie: I am like chocolate-chilly gelato, mostly people are not sure what to expect when I have an idea, but somehow I have the gift to make it work fabulously.

Esmrah: I am kind, sympathetic, innovative and creative, with a different way of thinking.

What has been your biggest challenge in life?

Keith: A 120kg rugby type guy I needed to arm wrestle, just kidding, I have to say that it was losing my father, even though you know where he has gone, it’s still tough having to deal with life without him…

Lindie: Moving alone to a foreign country without a plan and making it work!

Esmrah: Adapting to Secunda – I came here without knowing anyone, sacrificing everything I had in the Cape.

What do you think is the best quality that a person can have?

Keith: Knowing who they are and living it! DON’T BE FAKE!!!!

Lindie: Passion. That determines the difference between being good and great at what you do.

Esmrah: Honesty and sincerity.

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not working?

Keith: Work – I really need to keep busy and my mind stimulated or I’d go crazy!

Lindie: Playing around with oils on a empty canvass…

Esmrah: Spending time with my husband, and doing things like renovating our house or hanging out with friends.

If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be and why?

Keith: I think it would be myself, I would enjoy seeing what other people see when they meet me for the first time.

Lindie: Have coffee with CJ Langenhoven – I think he was the most brilliant Afrikaans writer!

Esmrah: My grandparents – they passed away before I was born.

How do you feel about LIFE?

Keith: It’s a gift and you do with it what you want, the possibilities are endless

Lindie: I love it! It is a beautiful mixture of time, people, emotions, dreams, your own unique interpretations of events & vision that forms the essence of your live.

Esmrah: I am passionate about life and believe that we are on earth not for ourselves but for other people.

Where did the dream of “theweddingpage.co.za” begin?

It started with an idea of creating a platform for suppliers and customers in the wedding industry common space to be able to get the best services in the industry no matter where you are in South Africa.

Tell us about your website www.theweddingpage.co.za:

It’s a national website aimed at presenting consumers with the most comprehensive set of wedding resources in the form of an interactive directory. We found that when you only have the money you have to budget for your wedding you want to spend it wisely and not on the first person you hear of. TheWeddingPage gives the user an opportunity to browse options in the industry before making a choice.

What is the core and main focus of theweddingpage.co.za?

Our main focus is to provide a comprehensive list of suppliers for anything you would need to plan a wedding, from the engagement to the honeymoon and thank you cards.

What do you offer to your target market?

A common space where brides/bridegrooms and the supplier can interact. For the supplier we offer low cost advertising space for the service with space for pictures and contact details. For the user we offer listings and options for suppliers to choose from. There are also galleries where users can get ideas for wedding dresses, cakes, rings etc. There are supplier galleries for registered brides and an ideas and advice section for users looking for information.

We have listings all over South Africa and the database is growing.

Why did you decide to take your business online?

The very nature of our business is e-business and we realize that so many brides and grooms do online searches for wedding information.

Why the wedding industry?

We all really enjoy the wedding buzz, and it gives us joy to know that we can help other couples create the best wedding they can with the resources they have available.

What would you like to cause in your industry?

We would like to create a platform for excellent service providers to be used and for users to get the choice when deciding on a wedding supplier. A space where people passionate about weddings can create their dreams, be it the supplier or the bride/groom

What or who, was your inspiration for becoming the person that you are today?

We would all say God, without His divine creativity, passion and inspiration we would not have the drive to do all that we do.

What is your opinion on Internet Business?

It is a gold mine industry in South Africa and has yet to take off. It really is the new way of doing business and connecting people.

What is your vision for Secunda and South Africa?

South Africa is busy learning as we grow, and so for those who are able to learn from mistakes and rectify them going forward, there exists a HUGE OPPORTUNITY!

What would you like the people of Secunda to know about you?

That you can CREATE wherever you are if you are passionate about your dreams!
