The Interview

Where were you born?

Dundee hospital Kwazulu Natal and proud of it!

Describe yourself in one sentence:

A passionate musician who loves having fun in life with my friends, family and gorgeous fiancé!

Things that only you know about yourself?

In a big crowd I’m an introvert. I’m normally nervous before a gig although it doesn’t always look so! Being a leader often gets lonely!

I was a super introvert when I was in School, I couldn’t ever face people. I once sang in front of the whole church, I was shacking so much that I made the mice stand shake heavily, because my foot rested at the bottom of the mice stand.

What is your greatest accomplishment in life so far?

After the 3rd of December I’ll say I’m married and that’s quite an accomplishment! I started a band sacred and we’re touring the country! We also released an album! We came 3rd at to battle of the bands competitions this year and did a few big gigs! Probably the greatest of all is the two Eksderde youth camps we did where saw how our music can actually change lives!

Tell us a bit more about your band, Sacred. How long have you guys been playing and what is your vision?

We’ve been together almost 5 years! We’d like to change the world’s point of view on Christian music! Whenever there’s a Christian song on radio there’s usually a corny comment to follow! We even did our stuff at a battle of the bands in Nile crocodile a nightclub in Pretoria! We wanna shine the light in the darkest places!

What are your favourite things to do when you are alone?

SMS my babe, sleep, relax, listen to music, watch TV, play sport games on the pc, spend time with my creator, play guitar and write songs!

What is your biggest dream?

I’d love to do concerts with bands like tree63 and tour not only SA but also the rest of the world! I’d like to have as much influence or even more than Eminem Linken park system of the down etc. so that I can influence people positively!

What was your most embarrassing moment?

When school came out and there were lots of people I waved to a girl that called me and ran smack into a pole! People cracked themselves!

What do you think of Secunda’s youth?

I think there are lots of potential leaders and role models! Lots of Secunda kids are stuck in all sorts of negative things and they’re exactly the kind I love! Because I was one and still have struggles in my life! No-ones perfect!

If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be and why?

Bono from u2! He’s a great example!

What item/s do you use the most in your day?

My car, my guitar

Without this you will be lost:

God, my cell phone …and my fiancé

What is your favourite day of the week and why?

Friday cause I sleep late and the evening I either visit with Liezl my fiancé or we’re doing a gig somewhere!

Do you know the meaning of your name? Does it have any relevance to you as person?

My name means dark warrior! As I said earlier I wanna shine my light in the darkest place.

Enjoy life to the full! Make every moment count. And to young although I can’t really say I’m old or famous or anything: Never stop chasing your dreams! Perseverance
